Dr Richard Wilson
Dr Richard Wilson is an arboriculturist based in Hertfordshire who also works in Wales. He holds the Professional Diploma in Arboriculture and the Technicians Certificate in Arboriculture, a Professional Member of the Arboricultural Association and an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters. In 2013 he was awarded the Royal Forestry Society/Lockhart Garratt Award after coming top in the Level 6 PDArb exams and is currently working towards becoming a Chartered Arboriculturist.
Richard grew up with a great appreciation for our natural environment and developed a passion for tree conservation and management, which led to the purchase of Moss Wood in Pembrokeshire, and the establishment, with his wife Sally, of a successful tree surgery business, C Trees Ltd, in Hertfordshire. As well as providing wide-ranging experience in all aspects of tree care, it enabled Richard to become fully qualified in practical tree management and the more theoretical aspects of arboriculture. With the sale of C Trees to Fred and Alan of The Blue Tree Company in March 2016, Richard is delighted to provide tree surveys for domestic and commercial clients as an associate of the new business.
Richard’s professional services are established on a solid foundation of many years’ experience, in-depth knowledge and a passion for trees. Richard has a reputation for sensible tree conservation, the provision of clear management advice and delivering a high-quality service. With the purchase of a Picus Sonic Tomograph in 2015, he is well-placed to provide objective tree health and safety data, which will help to retain trees that might otherwise be felled.
Richard divides his time between Hertfordshire and south-west Wales, both areas with a wonderful tree heritage. He has family connections to both areas, and he and Sally also manage a smallholding in Ceredigion.
